Acoustic damping 4pi speakers
https://audioroundtable.com/forum/index.phpindex.php?t=rview&goto=87804&th=21902#msg_87804
I am very slowly in the process of building 4 pi speakers, I'm in the uk and can get 100mm fibreglass insulation. However i wondered if there was a better product available. Mundorf Twaron angel hair/unicorn tail wadding?? 8mm felt or egg box foam. These are all available at a specialist hifi website over here. I have literally no idea about any of them. I would appreciate input. Or stick to the 100mm fibreglass.
Thanks in advance.]]>jw672018-04-13T22:19:56-00:00Re: Acoustic damping 4pi speakers

Use fiberglass insulation. I haven't found a better product for acoustic damping inside a loudspeaker, and I've sure found a lot worse. Occasionally someone will try a different product and get poor results, so they eventually rip it all out and go with R13.

I will do so-it's a lot cheaper as well.
R13 doesn't exist over here. I presume 100mm fibreglass is the equivalent. ]]>jw672018-04-14T16:57:27-00:00Re: Acoustic damping 4pi speakers

I would assume 100mm fiberglass is similar to R13 because their thicknesses are approximately the same.
