I don't know of any specific labels, but I do know of some specific albums. It seems maybe it's more a problem in the mixing stage than in production cause I've heard certain albums that were noticeably compressed and had audible tape hiss. I went to my record collection to thumb through and recall those that exhibited this, and the list was like a who's who of record labels. Same performer, same label and albums both before and after would be fine. I found specific examples from Atlantic, Decca, Columbia, Elektra, EMI, Geffen, Polygram and Warner Bros.
