They have a couple phono pieces in the current ish of _aX_.

The article is called Canto Sirena, Part 1 on page 32 of the
January 2004 edition of _Ed Dell's _AudioXpress_. Those looking
for a copy of this excellent magazine could try Barnes and Noble.

The author is James Lin and it says in the bio that
Lin has written for The Audio Amateur,Speakerbuilder
and Glass Audio (these were the previous publications which
Ed Dell combined as _Audio Express_. The one magazine
has articles on all these subjects now.

Will see how much goes into this project of Mr. Lin's.

I am just irked to see the ads for phono preamps in _aX_ for
$600! It just seems irrational. But I also do not know the
cost of the tubes and parts used in the device which Mr. Lin
has designed.

The only named reference to another tube design is by
J.C. Morrison called The Siren's Song, after which Mr. Lin
derived the name for his design. There is also a full reference
section of source material.

The design looks to be a rack mount construction and the
details will be provided in an upcoming _aX_.

If I did the project I'd have to have my hand held
step by step. Depends on if I can get some help on this
end for doing the actual assembly.
