I thought I might post a few quick notes on my second passion in life. Audio being my first, of course.
The 2004 Kentucky Derby picture is starting to clear up. Three weeks away, and right now I'm leaning toward Smarty Jones. The horse will enter the Derby a perfect 6 for 6 after a great race in this weekend's Arkansas Derby.
This is subject to change, of course.
I wish I would have put $50 on this horse in the Pool Three Futures Wager that ended April 4th. The "will pay" for Smarty Jones in the final pool was $23.60 on a $2 bet. So, if you bet $50 on April 4 that Smarty Jones would win the Kentucky Derby - and he won - I would get $1,180. Not too bad. Unless he loses.
I can't wait for the Daily Racing Form to post the field's Past Performances. That's when it really starts to get interesting.
