I purchased the Paul Speltz Zero Autoformers about a year ago for a speaker project and used them with great success. After a period of time, I found a pair of Tannoy Ardens and the Zero's have been packed away ever since. I have been reluctant to sell these because I'm sure that as soon as I let them go, I will find another speaker and application for them. Be that as it may, I need the cash more at the moment.
Most use these for impedance matching or increasing impedance between tube amps and low impedance speakers. Lets say you have a tube amp that "prefers" to run off the 8 Ohm taps and you have a favorite pair of speakers that are 4 Ohm or dip lower, The Zero's will allow you to raise the impedance seen by the amplifier to 8, 16 or greater impedance. This allows tremendous flexability in matching tube amplifiers with speakers that you might otherwise love, but their low impedance would normally make them a poor choice.
More info. about the Zero's can be found here: http://www.zeroimpedance.com/products.html
I purchased these new for $450 by will let them go for $300 plus shipping.
Thanks, RC
