No experience with crossover caps, but I recently tried some coupling caps in tube amps. I also found "Auricap" little "hard" and "bright" sounding, but not too much.
If you`re looking for more "silky" and "mild" sound, but detailed and transparent (and price/dimensions are of no concern) you can try Mundorf Supreme capacitor.
