Well IMHO a front loaded horn is the way to go(ex.Oris) ,but without getting to silly sizes it needs a sub(rolled off <200hz) and they have a very tiny sweet spot.I have never been a fan of rear firing rear loaded horns as they have a delay at the mechanical crossover point which i can hear(the driver should be in or very near the mouth) and the room position sometimes can kill the LF response, front firing is not quite as picky. The advantage to horns is (in a proper design) you can get a boost thru 3 octaves(a BR will boost around 1/2 octave) and the dynamics from a horn is not possible with any other type of cab.<----With present designs.Another advantage to horns is the high efficency, a given BR,MLTL,TQWT is around 5% or< efficency a horn is in the range of 50-70% efficency where efficency is the conversion of electrical energy to mechanical energy (sound). With that degree of efficency then 2-3 watts and a 96db driver is a perfect match.
