Sennheiser e935. I bought 3 of them on ebay for < $100 each, and they are a great mic. Far better than the industry std SM58/57. The 835 is less money and may serve your needs. For stands I still prefer the old round cast base ones. But for your minimal headbanger needs I'd just buy the cheap tripod ones.
