If the load were constant, it wouldn't matter if the load were 0.25 ohms and the source 10 volts or the load 8 ohms and source 56.6 volts, the results would be the same. But since loudspeakers are electro-magnets, they have limits in certain characteristics. Their physical attributes determine their attributes, and while there is some room for shifting parameters, there are limits. So the amplifiers chosen have to be optimized to work best within that range.
