When you blow a trumpet your lips provide the frequency of the air you are expelling, the shape of the trumpet (horn) makes it louder. In the case of a sax, it is the reed vibrating, not the lips.To complete the analogy,
lungs plus lips/reed = driver,
shape of the trumpet/sax = shape of the enclosure plus the room.
