Re: 4PI or 10PI for JBL K130

I've used a bunch of JBL 2205's over the years, and the K130 is somewhat similar. The 2205 is tuned a little lower and the K130 is a little more efficient. The 2205 worked very well in either a bass reflex or horn speaker, but I prefered them in seven π cornerhorns.

About cabinets, they should be tuned appropriately for the driver used. It's pretty close, so as far as size is concerned, the cabinets are interchangable. But the K130 motor cabinet should be tuned a little higher. PiAlign recommends a 2.625 cubic foot box tuned to 60Hz, using a 5.25" x 9.35" rectangular port that's 7.3" long.

If building a four π, make the box 26" x 18" x 12" and brace it well. If it's a cornerhorn, make it 33" x 17" x 9". I can send plans if you'd like, but be sure and clear out some space. Hotmail usually rejects large attachments.
