If there is some reason a 2.5-way system isn't an option, I'd probably cross a dual woofer lower than I would a single woofer. Dual woofer cabinets were really designed to be used as subwoofers. The intended frequency range is below 1/2λ cancellation between drivers. They're usually used with crossovers that limit upper frequency to 100Hz or so.
