Yes, that's a good way to split them out. It would be pretty easy to amp the woofer separately from the mid/tweeter in a π cornerhorn. Same idea as the sub/mains split I mentioned in the last post. That way you keep the passive crossover that's used in the mid/tweeter region, because it is already optimized and might be hard to duplicate with off-the-shelf crossovers.
