The Theater four π speaker is large and does not need a stand. Sitting six inches below the centerline of the speaker is perfect, even if you are sitting pretty close to it. It's good to get the mids and treble up to ear height but don't raise woofers too high if you can help it because that causes floor bounce which makes a notch in the midbass. So don't put these on a stand.

By the way, the speaker you've shown in your post is a Theater three π made by Fred Thompson. I don't believe he ever made a four π. The Theater three π is smaller but sounds very nice and balanced. The way he made it is a common mod, with the tweeter sitting on top and the woofer shifted up to be in the same position related to the tweeter. This is popular with people that use a wood tweeter horn like shown below. It's also another way to raise the sound source without needing a stand.
