That's a handy link, thanks. It looks like the forumulas are slightly different, but they calculate similarly. Notice the length offset on one formula is (L + 0.8d) and the other is (L + 8/3πd).

8/3π = 0.85, so the formula are very similar. One uses 0.8d for length offset and the other uses 0.85d.
