The Great Plains Audiofest kicks off at noon today. I'm getting ready to head over there and start getting setup.

I'm taking two π towers and Audiophile Series seven π's. The two π's are very popular, and it's nice to setup an under $1000 system with them. So I'll have those on display with a Heart Audio Stoetkit, and I'll connect a Nelson Audio Image SE8 for a while. Each of these are under $1000, and they're truly excellent.

But the real jaw droppers are the Audiophile Series seven π's. I have always been extremely proud of the π cornerhorn design, and this model really shows them in their best trim. The bass bins are figured walnut and were built by Martinelli, the same that were shown at MAF '03. The tweeter horn is also a bird's eye maple horn made by Martinelli. The midhorn is walnut and was made by Brad Smith at the new shop. I'll be running them with an Audio Note 6550 SET amp, and at some point in the show, I'll swap for a Selectronic ProFet and later to an AudioTropic Moebius preamp driving a AudioTropic Musical Machine main amp.

I hope those of you that haven't heard seven's are able to attend. Here in Tulsa, there are a lot of them, and many of those built as early as the 1970's are still bring used in South Tulsa homes. But for those of you that haven't heard them, I do hope we'll see you there. Come on in, sit down and have a listen.
