Diaphragm materials for compression drivers

When looking at the frequency response for compression drivers using polyester (Mylar) diaphragms I have noticed that most of them seem to be much more flat & smooth than their titanium counterparts.
(Examples include B&C DE25 www.bcspeakers.com/pdf/component/de25.pdf Beyma CP380M and Beyma CP385/Nd http://profesional.beyma.com/ENGLISH/pdf/descarga.php?pdf=CP380M.pdf http://profesional.beyma.com/ENGLISH/pdf/descarga.php?pdf=CP385Nd.pdf)

Does anybody know if this smooth behaviour is due to the choice of Mylar or rather overall driver design (or both)?

Cheers
/Magnus
