My AKG find happened in the early 90s. If I knew then what I knew now, I'd have a remakable collection. However, as we now know, that has all changed in large part due to the internet - Ebay in particular.
There are still great deals out there, Look for auctions/estate sales in your area. Check the local paper ads. See if there are "trading magazines" in your area. Go to garage sales and ask the wife 
. If you see an ad for LPs, call and ask about turntables. I think you'll be surprised. Also, I guarantee there are bed-bound Strats out there......
