Thanks AK appreciate the comments. The Creator Has A Master Plan is an experimental jazz record. After Coltrane Died, Pharoah Sanders kind of took up that sort of spiritual jazz theme that was happening with Trane. He mostly played with Adullah Ibrahim on keyboards and Roy Hanes on drums with Cecil McBee on bass. Leon Thomas is a singer who incorporates a type of Yoruba Tribe throat singing, similar to a yodel. Some of the music can get a little far out but some of it is achingly beautiful. There is a short version of Creator that also includes vocals and it was pretty popular back when. I really access the spirituality in the music since there isn't much of that anywhere else. Try Thembi or the two record cd Best Of Pharoah Sanders. It is good stuff. He came out with a song about 6 yrs. ago called Our Roots Belong In Africa, that I would occasionally hear on the radio and even in department stores! Try that too it is nice and funky. Thanks again J.R.( I have a really good concert story concerning the reunion of Pharoah and Leon that I will share sometime.)
