Actually, pretty hard. Candidates first must pass rigorous health-tests (nerves, coordination, etc.), then Explosives/mines course in the Police Academy. In the begining it was (almost) a good job - good sallary, long vacations, long rests through the day, etc.
But, competition between the Demining companies and less and less money from the state and foreign donations do their "job"...
Demining is expensive - special machines and lot of "hand job", work on the field ... not for everyone. But, my friend actually likes these things...
P.S. Plastic square things are actually non-magnetic anti-tanks land mines, and "corns" are "pull" type mines... bad things, even today every month or two someone get killed or crippled.
