Unfortunately, yes it's accurate. I just read about it today. It happened near El Paso, Texas. The two U.S. Border Patrol agents caught the illegal alien smuggling 800 pounds of marijuana. When confronted, he assaulted one of the agents. You know the rest of the story.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security tracked and found him in Mexico, then granted him immunity and brought him to the U.S. so he could testify against the two agents. They've been found guilty, and face a maximum prison term of 20 years. He's also suing the U.S. government for $5 million for violating his civil rights. What a joke!

Both agents had been exemplary in their job performance; one had even been nominated for Agent of the Year. Now, they are facing up to 20 years for simply doing their job, which is something the politicians and courts system obviously hasn't done over the past 30 years. "Travesty of justice" is somewhat of a light term to use here, to say the least.
