Well, everyone tends to say "a patriot" for himself, and "more modern" people say "neither, we are in 21st century", etc.
A good question is what (and who) makes our opinions and why.
One interesting band from Slovenia explores this field (totalitarism, nationalism, ideology, occult, war) for 25 years - Laibach.
I remember when some people from their circle published a nice May 1st poster- power of working people or so, power of socialism, unity, etc. And then confessed that they only changed the words on some old Nazi poster... Big scandal in former Yugoslavia, haha.
Their last "hit" is inspired with "Deutchland/American friendship":-)
