I thought my Weller WLC-100 with adjustable temp was pretty good. This Hakko puts it to shame. Construction: separate power unit and holder, tips are held with threaded shaft, not set screws, all metal.
Temp adjustment is extremely fine and heats and cools rapidly from heavy cap lead point-to-point to fine regulator on PCB. No more lifted traces or overheated components.
Solder a joint, even with 16ga. wire and the tip is ready to go almost as soon as you can move to the next one. Wow!
