This is an exciting development for anybody who has been wanting to get an OTL but couldn't afford the $7K+ price of the speakers on the market today that combine good sensitivity with a 16 ohm impedance load. Those who can't afford an Atma-Sphere can get into OTL's for as little as $1,199 with the Transcendent Sound T-16 OTL kit.
I'm using 16 ohm line arrays in my main system and have found that non-OTL SET and push-pull tube amps also like a 16 ohm impedance load, even when operating off the 8 ohm output transformer tap. It would be a mistake to believe that your speakers are only appropriate for OTL's.
Have you decided what electronics will be paired with the speakers in each of the two RMAF rooms you mentioned? I'll see you there.
