I think that's a great idea. Another thing I like about his drivers is he uses copper in the magnet structure not just to resist flux modulation but also to wick heat out of the core. The pole piece gets hot because of voice coil radiation and magnetic losses, and the motor tends to hold in this heat like a thermos bottle. I think it's very useful to wick heat away from the motor core, so much that I have a patent applied for the pole piece cooling plug.
