Well the first prototype didn't have either the efficiency or the frequency response that I was hoping for. We had a couple of miscommunications - they thought the efficiency I was asking for was with both voice coils driven, rather than with only one voice coil driven. That's a 3 dB difference right there.
They also thought I wanted a rolloff just below 1.8 kHz, when I was asking for response that would allow me to cross over at 1.8 kHz. So I have clarified my request.
Assuming the frequency response curve can be corrected (and I'm confident that it can), I think the efficiency will end up in the 94 dB ballpark. I really, really hope this woofer will be ready in time for me to show a kitspeaker at Lone Star this year.
