When I built my line arrays using 9 Fountek CDM 2.0 tweeters per side, I picked up that one of the tweeters had its polarity marked incorrectly on the basis of my Tact measurements. This was however an indirect way of assessing this and I always wondered if this tweeter, or any other, could be wired incorrectly. In a long array it is not easy to hear if one tweeter is wired incorrectly.
I read about a polarity tester in Hi-Fi News and contacted the company to ask if it would be able to test polarity in a ribbon tweeter and they assured me that it could.
I got the device called Phase-It http://gato-shop.com/en/ from Gato-Shop to measure my ribbon tweeters and confirmed that my Tact measurements were correct - one of the tweeters is incorrectly marked.
This is a useful little gadget
