Hi Chris
I have a pair of RM30C's which have three neo-panels and two 6" woofers. These have been replaced by my line array which sound a lot better. I liked the sound, esp the mid and upper ranges but could not get a good balance. I found the upper bass and lower mids to be lacking which resulted in a sound lacking in fullness and bass - I have always used corner subs with Tact crossover.
I measured the panles and foumd that they tail off quite sharply below about 800Hz while the woofers start to tail off above 300 Hz. The 400-700Hz range was always a problem in my setup.
I think that the panel sounds good in its optimal range. I even tried a DIY RM40 using Peerless woofers crossed to the panels (open baffle) at 800Hz which sounded very good but the woofer separation was larger than I would have liked. Overall the line arrays are better.
