Wow, that sounds time consuming. You got great results though, where did you tune?
I like that idea of sinking the frame lip. I was thinking of making my first pass with the router the pass that makes the lip flush, then coming in and doing the hole. I can see how coming back after the holes are cut would be faster because you don't have to keep finding the pilot hole.
