I am not speaker designer at all, only a hobbyist... I like the RM30 but felt that the upper bass and low midrange was a bit lean. On measuring the speakers AT THE LISTENING POSITION, I noted quite a dip in the SPL between 250-700Hz. When I measured the individual drivers the the woofers dipped down above 300 and the ribbons only got going at about 700. VMPS use various techniques such as first order series crossovers to compensate for this. Above 7000Hz the panels become quite beamy thus the use of a ribbon tweeter. For these reasons, I feel that the panels would work best in a three-way design, as the VMPS speakers are.
