I own a fender performer 1000 guitar amp, the problem is that when i have the amp swithed on for a few minutes, the gain channel selector jumps between the 2 gain channels by itself, then it settles on one gain channel with no sound being produced. I understand that the amp is old, and may have many problems with it, but i was wondering if anyone had experienced this problem before. What could the problem be?

Any ideas would be a big help.
