I don't usually put my one π or two π speakers on stands. They always seem to end up on bookshelves or mounted to the wall. But there's no reason they can't be put on stands. They're light, so you'll have less problems with stability than larger speak...

Of course, you can do just about anything you can dream up. But if you want the best results, you'll need to do your homework. Some modeling and testing would be in order.

I think as long as you have baltic birch, your speakers will sound fine. They'll be lighter and more durable than MDF cabinets too.

It's not that active crossovers aren't possible for this speaker. It's that you would need to do some work to optimize it. If you don't, then the passive crossover would be better.
I get asked this question a lot, at least a couple times a day, here...

Gotcha. The standard "studio" bookshelf size models are great for surrounds. They also work great in a small office or bedroom where space is at a premium. But they do lack the lowest bass frequencies.
