Re: Mono "flanking sub"
I use a plate amp that is attached to the sub itself. I tend to prefer it set at 50hZ, which many find too low. I believe the crossover (low pass 50 to 100hZ)slope is 12db. I use no eq. I come from a mindset/point of view where, you try to fix the...

Mono "flanking sub"
Hi, I'm using avi adm10 active monitors as mains, they are on wall brackets so very close to the wall, they have a summed mono subwoofer out which is a full range summed signal of the left and right channel, this is what I'm sending to my single "fl...

Re: 4 Pi Build Progress
Moving right along! Good going! Sorry for my late response. I've been slammed. Tons of kits in the queue, so sorry for my delay getting those out too. I'm running about 30 days behind. Order today, ship 30 days later. I prefer shipping within a ...

Re: 4 Pi Build Progress
I run a couple of Crown xls1500's. I absolutely love them for sub duties. I haven't seen the level of control from a plate amp.

Re: 4 Pi Build Progress
Just to answer my own question, It looks like the Mini DSP 2x4 is really the best and most flexible option, It will allow me to set up stereo subs exactly how I want them, and I can power them with any amp I want another plus. Now I'm torn between Plat...

Re: 4 Pi Build Progress
What's the best cross over for the flanking subs, I've been searching on the forums and most the links to products I find are old and no longer working. Here are the options I've found so far: 2 Crown XLS 2000 - Bi-Amp 4pi and 3pi tower Issue i...

Flanking Subs Lead Newbie to Confusion
Hello All, Wayne's posts and helpful replies convinced me that my speaker build should be 3 Pi mains with flanking 3Pi subs. I'm working on the sub build first, and noticed that no crossovers arrived with the drivers for the subs. Research led me to b...

Three Pi sub
Hey Wayne I am still gathering parts for my 4pi build and after reading more on your philosophy on helper subs I am thinking I may end up going that route in the end. What is the efficiency and impedance of the 3Pi sub? I am asking to figure out if...

Re: Bye-Bye 15 Ohm Shunt
The DE-250 must really like the 45 Amp. Almost immediately upon installing the ZYX R-50 Bloom on Saturday, I knew what was needed. This is by far the best cartridge I've had in my system. It's so dynamic and quiet in the groove there's no sense of...

Subwoofers are back in town
Some may remember I long ago cut down the BatSpeakers and installed the 15" Dayton Classics with mis-matched plate amps. Last year one amp quit and I hadn't been happy with the other from the start so left the subs out of the system 'ti...
