I'm sure I remember seeing Leslie cabinets in Domenic Troiano's amp setup at Guess Who concerts in the mid 70's. I think he used a Marshall head with them, and he wasn't always going through them. And it's been done plenty of other times, too.

Have you ever messed around with Leslies?
