I once heard that adding carpets and curtains helps in achieving great sound. Isn't this the greatest myth ever? I don't think you can achieve anything in this way. What are other myths that you've heard of before?

Carpets and curtains do damp sound a little bit. As such, they can help with unwanted reflections.

It won't turn a small room with hard walls into a recording studio, but it will help.
