I have tons of VHS tapes that I would like to convert to DVD. I know there is a device out there that will do it for me but I haven't bought one yet. Is there a quick way to do this without letting the movie run all the way through while recording on the DVD?

No quick way. The tape is analog, so there is no way to do some kind of fast memory transfer. The tape is played to capture the video which is burned onto DVD.

It would be great if there was a way to get through them all faster, but unfortunately there just isn't. I bought one of these machines a few years back and I'm still working on converting all of my VHS' over to DVD.
