Pestered the life out of the smart guys over there but now:
1)I know the diff between heaters, filaments, cathodes anodes and grids
2)Why wire dress goes one way and not another
3)Built (finished yesterday) a Foreplay from parts I had laying around that, for the very first time, doesn't hum, buzz, squeak, or rattle.
Not even that quiet little "rushing" sound you get with quiet tubes.
YAAAAAAYYYY!
That was a goal I set for myself before self was allowed to order the parts for the super custom foreplay based Pre I'm going to build. I got the "Trick" transformer from Doc and just sent Michael Percy $220 bucks!

Sweeeeet! I've still got my Paramours, a Foreplay and the Seduction kit. Sadly, the Seduction is still in the unopened box and I probably won't have time to get to it for a while. But I think those Bottlehead kits are really great.

On the subject of cool tube amps, did you see Frank's post about the free trial of the Stoetkit? Check out the FSAudio forum - That Stoetkit amp looks real cool too.
