Sensitivity is too low, sorry. The chart below shows the response of the two π tower, which is the same as the studio (bookshelf) version from 100Hz up, and nearly the same as the one π speaker. Notice that above 2kHz (where the DX25 is playing), the response is slightly lower than it is below 2kHz (where the midwoofer is playing). The XT25 is about 3dB lower than the DX25, just a little too much.

Those 3dB are the reason why the SB29 is the only reasonably priced upgrade, and upgrade it is, to the DX-25.

Wayne, we both need to hear it with the Alpha 10.Tell you what, I'll buy a pair of Alphas (actually 12s so I don't have to build a special cabinet) if you buy a pair of SB-29s. Deal?
