You might look at the 12 π basshorn subwoofer. It doesn't use a 15" or 18" driver, but uses a pair of 12" drivers instead. This gives it the same diaphragm surface area as an 18" driver. I'll have one at the Prosound Shootout in a couple of weeks, and will post measurements after the event.
