That little eyeball-lookin' super tweeter sure looks cool. I suspect it sounds very good - Tannoy has a great reputation and one would expect this to be a great product. I don't have any experience with Tannoy, so perhaps I should remedy that someday.

I guess the British are as familiar with Tannoy as we Americans are of Hershey's chocolates or Nestea iced tea. I think they've been around since like the 1920's and it seems that people in England used to say things like "heard it on the Tannoy," in reference to public address. Evidently Tannoy was just about a houshold word over there for the WWII generation.

...so it would work in a moderately sensitive setup, but it would have a tough time hanging with some of the more sensitive drivers. I have heard some nice sounding Tannoy stuff. If you need something hotter though, fostex makes some nice supers too (and about 12 to 16 dB hotter). see link below. Please note I have not used any of this stuff, so look into it more. Maybe high efficiency forum.

Looks cool but have to listen. Even the more expensive Fostex super tweeter are around half the price.
