Hi All,

I am new to the business. And need some helps from all you seniors:
I bought JBL 2402H, 2447J and E-155H for 4-pi 18 bass reflex
series. But I can not run Wayne's DOS progrm on my SUN workstation
to get the proper box volume and port size/length. Any one can help
me run the number, please? I am planning to active cross around 1kHz for 2447J and E-155H.

Thanks a lot!

Here is the spec for E-155H:
fs 30, qts 0.2, qms 2.2, qes 0.22, vas 424.8 lites, eff 4.9, pe 300w, Xmax 5.08mm, re 6 ohm, le 1.4 mH, sd 0.114 m*m, bl 25 N/A, m 125 g

Hi again,

I forgot to mention: tune to 30Hz, if it is possible for E-155H?

Regards,

Shau

PiAlign recommends a 3.0ft3 cabinet tuned to 56Hz using a port that's 5.25" x 9.375" and 7.25" long. Performance is very good using this cabinet. I wouldn't recommend tuning at 30Hz unless the cabinet were made much larger - around 8ft3 - in which case you will have generated an EBS alignment. Trouble is that this will reduce output below 100Hz -6dB.

The PiAligned 3ft3 56Hz cabinet provides flat response with f3 of 60Hz. The 8ft3 30Hz EBS alignment is -6dB down below 100Hz, but stays at this level down to 30Hz and the shelf is flat. Both are pretty good solutions, depending on your application.

Thanks Wayne for the informative input!

Is that mean 2226J will out-perform E-155h around 40Hz? If so, I will go for 2226J instead of E-155h. The reason I bought E-155h is that it is 18" with lower fs(30Hz vs. 40Hz of 2226J).

Best Regards,

Shau

These drivers are really tuned for high-output output above 40Hz. They can be used below this frequency, but they aren't designed with specs that make them well-suited for operation in the 20Hz - 40Hz octave. Looks for drivers with more moving mass and a little bit higher Q.
