Ok, my wife is going to have me rearrange the living room again (every 3 months ). Here is a quick and dirty drawing of our layout as it stands. I could use some help with some tips for optimum speaker placement. Obviously we are dealing with asthetics here as well. Right now I have the Heresy's about 5.5' apart and 16" off the wall on either side of the entertainment center. It's the EC that can be troublesome. 5' wide, 16" or so deep and 4.5" tall. I can't imagine it's not causing some problems.

My suggestion is that you check out your options with CARA.

Is it the whole software bundle you need?

Yes, it's fairly inexpensive. Less than a hundred bucks.

Well depending on how much "play" you have with speaker placement it looks like your around 12' away so I would pull them out from the wall more and spread them out a little more. I have Heresy's also and I cant hardley listen to them without a sub.

Unfortunately, the EC can only go on the wall it's on or the long wall on the left. Where the speakers are at now: if you pull them out too much more they're right in the walkway from the kitchen doorway on the left to the sliding glass doors to the patio on the right. The dorrway on the left is also the main one to the bedrooms. It's such a nice big room, but a big lousy layout. I swore to my wife someday I'll have a room for just my audio and music!

Thanks for the suggestions. The Heresy's sound all right to me. They could probably use a sub, but since I've never had speakers that weren't bass challenged in some regard, I guess I don't really notice.
