Looking for some Pi advice for theater ...
So I did spend a fair bit of money on a theater layout and am very happy with it. The speakers are specified to be behind a screen wall. I would like to use some of my DIY skills to make the LCR speakers and to that end I have done a lot of reading, mult...

Re: Multiple 4pi per channel

Re: Multiple 4pi per channel
Wayne, thank you for the reply, unfortunately I'd lack the skills and knowledge to know what I was doing! I can cut and put together something that has already been proven with instruction, no problem! But to go out there and start trying something new? Pr...

Multiple 4pi per channel

π Constant Directivity Cornerhorn: Bass Bin Design Details
I did consider making the bass bin of my constant directivity cornerhorns using a folded horn, like the 12π hornsub. But upon careful considerations, I found a lot of disadvantages in that approach. These considerations are described in some detail in ...

Re: 3Pi speakers - various questions
Thank you Wayne. I have incorporated the above suggestions into my current design idea. As I mentioned, I have read your work, and that of Dr. Geddes. In this case, there are a couple of reasons why I am disinclined to take this route. First...

Re: 3Pi speakers - various questions
That looks like an excellent layout. But I have a few suggestions. First, keep the subs in separate boxes from the mains, so you can use them as distributed multisubs. This will help smooth room modes. Second, don't run the mains sealed, but rath...

Re: How to setup multiple subs
Do not use the automatic setting on the receiver. As you have guessed, it will only become confused. What we're looking for is blending, not a single point source (since that's not possible indoors anyway). The best thing is to setup two subs as fla...

How to setup multiple subs
Wayne Parham says that up to four subwoofers adds a smooth bass sound field that is much better than one. Here is my question: I have a Pioneer receiver that uses a mike to calculate the distance between the listener and all the speakers. By doing that ...

Re: Help with placement of subs with Three Pis
Either position A or B would work, but I would prefer A. That position will do a better job of smoothing the reflection off the back wall than the side walls. But this is truly minutia, because if your speakers are positioned tightly in the corners, ne...
