The Altec 416 has very high Vas and so needs a very large box, between 6 and 18 cubic feet tuned to 30Hz. PiAlign suggests 8.5ft³ for the 416. The Altec 414 should be used in much smaller boxes, like 0.5ft³ to 2.0ft³ tuned to 60Hz. PiAlign suggests 1.5ft³ for the Altec 414.
