Some of you may have heard that the KSN1038 tweeter has been discontinued. We still have stock for one π, two π and two π tower speaker kits, but we are no longer selling the KSN1038 individually. We will sell the existing kits until they are gone.
I plan to find a replacement part and to continue production of one π, two π and two π tower speakers and kits. The prices will undoubtedly increase to reflect the inclusion of a different tweeter. The price increase may be as much as double.
I'm considering several options right now. Two that seem particularly attractive are the Vifa DX25 and the Eminence APT80. Each has its particular benefits, and it's a pretty tough decision. I also haven't ruled out other options. Honestly, I wish CTS hadn't discontinued the existing tweeter because it has been an inexpensive, attractive, reliable and stable part. But we'll make sure that the added cost of the tweeters make the new kits worth their price.
