The whole reason AudioRoundTable.com was formed was that a handful of folks were sick and tired of the gossip columns and name calling at other audio messageboards. So rules were made to prevent that from happening here.

The Dungeon was really set up almost exclusively for you Annexers, after you asked for it. I personally get frustrated and want to vent sometimes, so I bring some of that down here. But I was surprised that after the Dungeon was formed, I don't think I ever saw you post here. It's been nine months since then, and we haven't heard a peep from you.

The majority of AudioRoundTable.com forums are places for "how-to" discussions about audio, and really nothing else. It is not a place for gossip columns, personal attacks or social or political commentary. That's not what the place was created for, and it isn't going to be badgered and manipulated into becoming that. If you think technical discussions and opinions about how to build and setup sound systems are boring, then AudioRoundTable.com forums are not for you. Now that I think about it, most technical or how-to topics aren't very exciting, but sometimes the end result is pretty cool.

The Dungeon is much more open and unrestricted. About the only things off limit there are kiddie porn and stuff regulated by federal law. If it's illegal, it would be deleted 'cause none of us want the feds around. But for the most part, the Dungeon is an unmoderated area and you don't have to feel like you're walking on eggshells when discussing controversial or sensitive things. It's not limited to shop talk or product reviews or whatever.

I would really like to see you, Zheeem, Lonestar, John and the rest of the Annexers here. The Dungeon was setup specifically so you would have a place to express yourselves, using whatever style you prefer. But please don't try to impose your will on the rest of the forums. They are shop-talk discussion areas and are there to help support people with the hobby.
